History: Trails of Cold Steel is a long series comprised of four games and each of them easily takes 60+ hours to beat. There's a detailed wiki and summaries on the official site but I'll very quickly go over which periods of Rean's life the games cover.

The first game is about his life at Thors Military Academy (1204), the second covers the Erebonian Civil War (1204-1205), the third takes place when he returns to Thors as an Instructor (1206), and the fourth ties up the plot from the previous three entries (1206).
Personality: Rean is a kind, responsible young man who cares deeply for the people around him. Even though he appears confident, the truth is he harbors many doubts about himself, his strange power, his own worth, and his place in his family. Throughout II, he comes to terms with his flaws and learns to accept himself for who he is and accept his family's love. By III, age and experience have molded him into a more mature, balanced person. His core traits are his kindness, sense of responsibility, consideration for others, and his recklessness.

Powers:
Rean has a lot of JRPG bullshit going on. He has a mysterious power that turns his hair white and his eyes red. In I, he becomes an Awakener and is linked to the Divine Knight Valimar and is more or less made immortal. He is a practitioner of the Eight Leaves One Blade style of swordsmanship and he has access to an ARCUS which lets him use magic.
Inventory: A tachi, a pair of glasses, a 50 mira coin, a vantage masters deck, a blade deck, the clothes on his back, his ARCUS, and a variety of quartz.

Likes: Rean cares more about having a deep connection with someone than their specific characteristics or traits. Give him opportunities to deepen his bonds with someone and a ship will eventually sail...after a few years.
Dislikes: He's a forgiving and understanding person. Provided someone isn't irredeemable he can come to like them.
